World Cup and other Miscellaneous Things

Been keeping tabs on Mugglenet?  The world cup is coming ever closer.  Life after Potter is strange.  Don't you think?  Sometimes I wake up and wish it were a few years ago, just to get excited about another release of the books and or movies.  Geeky, yes I know, but true all the same.  Do you ever wake up like that?  Where did all my Potter time go.

Today for the fight, though someone pointed out to me that the word fight sounds pessimistic and I want to make it clear that I'm not actually fighting nor is this meant to be negative but again, a way for other fans likes me to come together and discuss other Potter related things to keep up the hype before it dies, I'm posting another video which I found HILARIOUS.  Hillywood show productions did a great job with this video.  Hillywood Show Harry Potter

Knitting Rules...

Sooooo today I had the day off.  No instructing, no school, and most importantly, NO WORK!!  I was alone in the house besides my dog, so I turned on the TV for some noise.  To my amusement, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 was on and my most FAVORITE part EVER.  Ronald Billius Weasley is my dream man, he is the sweetest guy ever and I vow to try and name a future son after him because he is just the best character ever.  Well, one of the best.  It was the part where he comes back after destroying the horcrux and he tells Hermione it was his voice that brought him back.  How SWEET!!

Anywho...Knitting Rules.  Today I got some time to really knit.  I finished a candy corn hat for my friend that's a photographer doing some halloween pictures, and I started looking around for some fingerless gloves as well as additions to my halloween costume.  No, sorry folks, don't have the money to buy a Potter costume and I don't have enough yarn to make my own.  Ha ha.  However, we're doing a spider theme, my boyfriend and I.  It's going to be wicked, though we both wish we would have thought ahead and gone as NCIS characters.  XD

But seeing as this is also my knitting blog, I've decided that I'm going to eventually put down a list of knitting rules that I've come to find handy...And I have a few to start.

1.  ALWAYS have black yarn.  You never know when you're going to find a project that will look PERFECT in that dark color, or even to finish off a project to give it that final touch.

2.  Small handbags?  Don't believe they exist for needle crafters.  I carry a big bag with me everywhere and I always have at least one project with me because I always make sure to have a small project cast on to carry so that I'm never stuck anywhere bored.  You never know when you could get a few minutes of knitting time in!

3.  Carry a stash list with you at all times.  Helps keep your wallet full.  ;)

Those are just a few for now.  Stay tuned!

Yes, you did read right.  The Quidditch World Cup is coming to New York in November and guess who is trying to go???  Yep, that's right!! Currently trying to rally a few friends and family to head up for one day of the festivities.  Really wish I could stay for the whole weekend, but I'm hoping next year they get to go to some big open country side and I can try to camp for the whole weekend!!  Who's excited?

Will you be attending the World Cup?  What have  you done for the fight?

Epic Fail

Welllllll...guess I failed at that project.  However, I still plan to keep this up to date, but sort of twist it into my knitting blog as well...Seeing as they are they only people that will probably ever actually SEE my blog anyways...

It's been a long summer of knitting and HP reminiscing.  Will try to post a few pics of it soon...but in honor of Harry Potter...for all you knitters out there...HP Blanket Squares...My next BIG attempt at a project will be these squares into one huge Kingsize comforter for my room...At which point I will FINALLY get my ongoing dream of doing my room in Harry Potter...I'll probably be 20 by the time it's finished, but I don't care.  Each background will be a light purple, and I'm very excited to start this project.  =]

How are you keeping Harry alive?

Well, so much for that.

As I predicted, it's been a little harder to keep up with blog.  Much as I suspected.  However, that does not mean that I am not keeping up with the fight.  Here in a few weeks, my boyfriend and I will be tripping up to New York to see the Harry Potter exhibit.  I am very excited.  Also, I've entered into a contest to win a trip down to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and am currently attempting to find the time to enter Mugglenet.com's fan of the week.  Wish me luck?

So, speaking of Mugglenet.com, if you don't know what it is, you should head on over to their website and check them out.  They are an awesome HP website that gives day to day updates of whats going on and have been doing so for years.  My favorite website I must say.

So, what have you been doing for the fight whilst I've been gone?

So much for every day...

Well, so much for a day to day...hey.  I said I'd do my best, and I never actually made a promise...Honestly, at this point I'm pretty sure I'm still talking to myself.  Anyone out there who wants to join the fight?  Well anyways, I work two jobs so sometimes it's hard for me to get to a computer with enough time to chat it up with...well, myself.  =]

Well as for today I have two videos I would like you to check out...One is very sad and puts together the past ten years in a memorable way...The other one does the same thing in a humorous way...We Are Marching On - Harry Potter goodbye...=[  and Harry Potter in 99 seconds

The first link is the sad one but well put together.  The second one is humorous because after don't we always have to laugh ourselves first?  I think Fred and George would be proud.

Here's to you Weasley Twins!!

And what are you doing for the fight today?

Day 5...Trying to find happiness in the darkest of places...

Well, I didn't mention this yesterday, but I was in a car accident.  Everyone who was involved is fine, but our cars...oooh...not so much.  However, I am working very hard to move past this horrible event.  On to the fight...

Today, after running errands all day desperately searching for a solution to my now carless self, I find myself once again discussing Harry Potter...And as usual, I am drawn to watch yet another Harry Potter movie.  Prisoner of Azkaban is the choice for today.  Not my favorite, but one I love, and amusing none the less.

Divination class as of right now...Trelawney is truly a one of a kind character, and I must say Ron is super wonderful in this movie...possibly one of my favorites of his in the movies.  But today, I wanna discuss heros...

Last night my boy friend and I were messing around with some sample questions of the Newlywed game.  We were trying to see how much we knew about each other trying to figure out if we could eventually get on the game...Think again, but I bring this up because of one question that ended up pertaining to Harry Potter.

To the man: Who is her hero in life, or the person she most looks up to?

Ha, he said J.K. Rowling...WRONG!!  Can you guess?  Probably not, drum roll?

Molly Weasley.

Yes, if there is any person in this world, fictional or real that I aspire to be and/or look up to, see as my hero or whatever, it would be Molly Weasley.  In my eyes, she is Superwoman.  She manages seven children two of which leave school (which I'm sure is a mother's worst fear), a husband and an entire househould...Not to mention adopting Harry and Hermione into her patchwork family as one of her own.  And besides being one of the most powerful women I can think of, she's an honest to god pure of heart woman.  Underneath it all, she accepts people for who they are, no matter their past.  She also is frugal and does everything she can to get by on what she has.  Molly actually inspired me to knit.

So, this is a shout out to Molly Weasley.  Hero among mom's and children alike, my own hero to boot, the Superwoman of the Harry Potter series, the ultimate mother, wife, and character.  We love you Molly Weasley!!

Who's your Harry Potter hero?
